After two games on the road, Atlanta is heading back home. They will take on the Marion County Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlanta knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Marion County likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Atlanta strolled past Marshall with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. Given Atlanta's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Marshall is ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Marion County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-54 loss to Brashear on January 2nd.
Atlanta pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Marion County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Atlanta against Marion County in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 69-35 victory. Will Atlanta repeat their success, or does Marion County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
