New Braunfels is 2-8 against Judson since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The New Braunfels Unicorns will head out on the road to challenge the Judson Rockets at 7:00 p.m. New Braunfels knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Judson likes a good challenge.
Even though San Marcos scored an imposing 68 points on Tuesday, New Braunfels still came out on top. New Braunfels took their game against San Marcos 75-68. Given New Braunfels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while San Marcos is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Judson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Steele on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win. That's two games straight that Judson has won by exactly four points.
New Braunfels' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. As for Judson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
New Braunfels strolled past Judson in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 80-66. Will New Braunfels repeat their success, or does Judson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
