Basketball Recap: Ben Devries Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fullerton

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Calvary Chapel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past the Fullerton Indians with a 70-64 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2021.

Calvary Chapel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben DeVries out in front who posted 22 points. That's the most points DeVries has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jorden Embry, who scored 16 points.

Fullerton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jad Mustafa, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Myvett, who put up 23 points.

The win made it two in a row for Calvary Chapel and bumps their season record up to 10-13. As for Fullerton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel will head out to square off against Tustin at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvary Chapel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season. Fullerton has already played their next matchup (against Godinez Fundamental), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
