The Chase Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the East Henderson Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chase focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Chase had to suffer through a rough 73-31 loss at the hands of Burns. Chase has not had much luck with Burns recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Chase saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Landon Barnes, who scored 10 points, was perhaps the best of all. Barnes scored a full 32.3% of Chase's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jeremiah Lipscomb was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Meanwhile, East Henderson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 69-20 victory over Madison at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-8.
East Henderson relied on the efforts of Brady Nix, who scored 12 points, and Caiden Brewer, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Taylor, who scored 8 points.
Chase's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Henderson, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Chase didn't have too much breathing room in their match against East Henderson in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. Will Chase repeat their success, or does East Henderson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
