They came out on top against Clifton Central by a score of 53-40. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as La Salette Academy did.
La Salette Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eamon Martin, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Martin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of John Brauner, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Clifton Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aidan Podowicz. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. Logan Fritz was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
La Salette Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Clifton Central, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Salette Academy and Danville will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Clifton Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
