After two games on the road, St. Louis is heading back home. After both having extra time off, they and the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, St. Louis faced the Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Louis fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 39-37.
Meanwhile, Mid-Pacific Institute came up short against the Buff n' Blue last Thursday and fell 63-53.
Mid-Pacific Institute's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Darius Chizer, who scored 18 points along with two steals, and Jarek Yee who scored 14 points along with two steals. Tyson Norr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.
St. Louis' defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-7. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they dropped their record down to 11-17 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for St. Louis against the Owls when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 82-49 victory. Does St. Louis have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
