After soaring to 71 points the game before, Mission Vista were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Carlsbad, falling 88-25. While losing is never fun, Mission Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Carlsbad is ranked 34th).
Carlsbad was led to victory by Jake Hall and Jael Martin. Hall scored 18 points, while Martin dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Hall's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deuce Sims, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Mission Vista's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Carlsbad, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Vista will face off against Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fallbrook has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 342 points over their last five contests. Carlsbad is on the road again on Friday and play against St. Augustine at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. St. Augustine will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
