The Lugoff-Elgin Demons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 68-41 defeat at the hands of Ridge View. Lugoff-Elgin has not had much luck with Ridge View recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss came despite strong showings from Teryn Hobson and Jillian Rush. Hobson scored 15 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds, while Rush scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Rush's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Lugoff-Elgin's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. As for Ridge View, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Lugoff-Elgin will head out on the road to face off against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lugoff-Elgin in South Carolina (Westwood is ranked 30th, while Lugoff-Elgin is ranked 158th). As for Ridge View, they will be playing at home against Irmo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Irmo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
