It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Columbine Rebels had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Fountain-Fort Carson at home to the tune of 65-7. The victory was just business as usual for Columbine, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Josh Snyder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 168 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Snyder was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Moreno, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
When it comes to explaining why Fountain-Fort Carson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mathias Price. Despite the final result, he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Price has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played.
Columbine pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points per game. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Columbine's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Legend at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Legend will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Fountain-Fort Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
