North Central Missouri recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kirksville, who defeated 165th ranked Boonville, 36-7. Tyler Osborn threw for 104 yards and ran for 139 yards in the win.
The Tigers' Osborn recorded the longest rushing play in North Central Missouri this season in his game against the Pirates last week. Osborn scampered for 64 yards on the play and finished with 139 on the day as his team beat Boonville.
Joe Schlemeier threw for 309 yards and 1 touchdown. He went 18-29 with 1 interception.
Schlemeier put up the best numbers through the air as Fulton lost to Hannibal. Schlemeier's favorite target this week was Travis Dean, who caught 5 passes for 121 yards.
Fulton's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Schlemeier has thrown for 1,414 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Chris Tilson has 30 catches for 636 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Moberly takes on second place Hannibal.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Hornets' Tilson goes up against Devin Brown's team's Dakota Meyer.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Fulton and the Pirates face off next week.
Next week's game between Pat Kelley's team and Boonville will feature an aerial matchup as Schlemeier tests his arm against Meyer's defensive ability.
Moberly extended the longest winning streak in North Central Missouri this week by beating Marshall, 24-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
