Adding to the longest winning streak in A District 8 this week, Trousdale County beat Gordonsville 43-31. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Yellowjackets.
Trousdale County led the league in scoring this week by notching 43 points on the Tigers.
Gordonsville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Noah Smotherman has thrown for 1,118 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Austin Vaden has 32 catches for 565 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Goodpasture Christian takes on Watertown. At the moment, the Cougars are in third, while the Purple Tigers are in fourth.
Gordonsville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,565 from 7,623. The improvement was largely due to a 43-31 victory over Ron Marshall's team last week.
