The Pacific Grove Breakers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 69-58 victory over Soledad on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pacific Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Benjamin Liddell out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Liddell pulled down eight or more rebounds. Gabriel Valencia was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Pacific Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Soledad, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacific Grove will face off against Alisal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Soledad and Rancho San Juan will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rancho San Juan is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
