Moorefield hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will welcome the Patriots at 5:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Moorefield came up short against Pendleton County and fell 9-6.
Brenna See was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Emmy Crites was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Washington made sure to put some runs up on the board against Musselman on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Applemen 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mckenzie O'Hara made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. O'Hara was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Addison Musser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madison Smith, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Washington lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Washington has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Moorefield, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
