Sequoia Charter came into Thursday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Phoenix College Prep with a sharp 51-25 victory on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Alta Vista Charter came up short against the Heroes on Thursday and fell 48-35. While losing is never fun, Alta Vista Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Heroes are ranked 62nd).
Sequoia Charter's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10. As for Alta Vista Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
