The Scotland Highlanders suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-37 walloping at the hands of Alcester-Hudson. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Scotland has suffered against Alcester-Hudson since January 21, 2019.
Alcester-Hudson was led to victory by Jose Topete-lopez and Dominic Van egdom. Topete-lopez scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Van egdom dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Topete-lopez posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Ethan Bovill, who scored 14 points.
Scotland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Alcester-Hudson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Scotland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Beresford at 10:30 a.m. on January 27th. As for Alcester-Hudson, they will challenge Viborg/Hurley at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Viborg/Hurley's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
