This season hasn't been kind to the Salem Wildcats, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-30 walloping at the hands of Wesson on Thursday. Salem lost against Wesson in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-41 score last time.
Wesson was led to victory by Brendon Duguid and Aidan Brice. Duguid scored 10 points, while Brice scored 12 points along with 3 steals. Brice is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Johnson, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Salem's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Wesson, their victory bumped their record up to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will take on Woodlawn Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wesson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Lincoln at 7:30 p.m.
