Minor had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Pinson Valley Indians, falling 13-1. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Minor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommie Burts, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Burts has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
As for Pinson Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.
On Pinson Valley's side, Davin Wells made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Wells also tossed two walks, which is notable because Pinson Valley is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-12 otherwise. Wells was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Pinson Valley let Jacob Woods and Tyler Holifield run wild. Woods went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Holifield went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Holifield has become a key player for Pinson Valley: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylen Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Looking ahead, Minor will host Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pinson Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Paul W. Bryant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stampede have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.65 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
