The Maryvale Prep Matador's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-49 walloping at the hands of Madison Highland Prep.
Madison Highland Prep can attribute much of their success to Jaycob Young, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxx Gonzalez, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Maryvale Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Madison Highland Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maryvale Prep will face off against Superior at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Superior is ranked 267th, while Maryvale Prep is ranked 263rd). As for Madison Highland Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
