The Henry-Senachwine Mallards just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the DePue Little Giants at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Henry-Senachwine fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Rebels on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, DePue's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 62-32 defeat at the hands of Earlville. While losing is never fun, DePue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 205th).
Henry-Senachwine's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for DePue, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
Henry-Senachwine took their win against the Little Giants in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 65-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Henry-Senachwine since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
