Morningside Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell 60-48 to Jensen Beach.
Despite their defeat, Morningside Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Elijah Clifford, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clifford has scored all season. James Bolton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Morningside Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Olympic Heights entered their tilt with Dr. Joaquin Garcia with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Olympic Heights pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over Dr. Joaquin Garcia.
Olympic Heights can attribute much of their success to Joel Toribio, who scored 15 points along with three steals, and Harrison Cohen, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Toribio scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Kamalzadeh, who scored seven points.
Morningside Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Olympic Heights, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Morningside Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 58.8 points per game. However, it's not like Olympic Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 58.2 points per game.
