The Junction City Dragons waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Woodlawn with a 57-51 win. This was payback for Junction City, who suffered a 54-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Junction City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylon Owens out in front who scored 13 points along with three steals. Owens is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Pechone Larry was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Junction City's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Woodlawn, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn, they will be playing at home against the Go-Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
