It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ocean Springs Greyhounds can now relate to. They fell 35-23 to Meridian on Friday. Ocean Springs' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Smith, who rushed for 113 yards. Smith hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Ocean Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-6.
Ocean Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Meridian will take on Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
