Nathan Hale is 2-8 against Seattle Prep since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Nathan Hale will challenge Seattle Prep at 4:00 p.m. Nathan Hale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Nathan Hale took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against West Seattle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Nathan Hale had just enough and edged out West Seattle 11-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.
Gigi Drohan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Kalea Sowers was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Parry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Nathan Hale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Seattle Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Ballard, falling 16-6. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Amelie De LaPorte-Manahan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. Hayden Downer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Nathan Hale's record is now 2-3. As for Seattle Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Seattle Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nathan Hale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. It's a different story for Seattle Prep, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Nathan Hale's hitters?
Nathan Hale might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Seattle Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Nathan Hale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
