Catonsville is 2-8 against Dulaney since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Comets will head out to square off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Catonsville has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Westminster hit Catonsville with a five-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets came up short against the Owls, falling 13-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Comets couldn't push the score so high this time.
Catonsville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Barrone, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Dulaney strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Eastern Tech as they made off with a 15-3 victory. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Avery Remeto and Kimani Dennis did most of the damage at the plate: Remeto went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Dennis went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Dennis has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lila Gordon, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Dulaney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Dulaney's record now sits at 10-0. As for Catonsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Catonsville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Dulaney struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Catonsville might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Dulaney in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
