Softball Recap: Miami Trace Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mcclain

Miami Trace scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the McClain Tigers by a score of 13-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (ten), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Mya Babineau and Hunter Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Babineau went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Johnson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Keionnie Ackley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Miami Trace has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for McClain, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Miami Trace wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against London on the 10th. McClain has also already played their next game (against Zane Trace), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
