Mountain Island Charter is 1-9 against Pine Lake Prep since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Raptors will square off against the Pride at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mountain Island Charter came out on top against Bradford Prep on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Raptors took their game against the Bears 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.

Tucker Belcher was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Belcher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Berger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Hansen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Pine Lake Prep waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-7.
Jackson Drury looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dylan Brandt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alec Brown, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Pine Lake Prep's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Island Charter, their record is now 7-12.
Mountain Island Charter couldn't quite get it done against Pine Lake Prep in their previous matchup on April 4th as they fell 6-2. Can the Raptors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
