The Skyline Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Frederick, falling 58-20. Skyline has not had much luck with Frederick recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mikaela Stromquist was Skyline's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Aniah Dothard held things down on the boards with six rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Skyline's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Frederick, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Skyline in Colorado (Mountain View is ranked 77th, while Skyline is ranked 204th). Frederick on the road again on Thursday and play against Thompson Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Thompson Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
