Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson Day). They enjoyed a cozy 85-69 win over the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Ayden Fisher was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-15 to rack up 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Makai McKnight, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Jackson Day was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Piedmont Community Charter still got an impressive performance from Johnathan Austin, who went 7-for-15 en route to 22 points and six boards. Austin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Neves McElhaney, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-16. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Jackson Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-60 victory against Sugar Creek Charter on the 7th. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they have also already played their next game, a 99-54 loss against Queen's Grant on the 7th.
