Piedmont was led to victory by Fred Little and Miles Leaks. Little scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals, while Leaks scored 20 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Leaks' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Brady Drake was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Several Redhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Young, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Zavion Ivey, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Piedmont is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont will take on Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
