The Nonnewaug Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the O'Brien RVT Condors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. O'Brien RVT took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Nonnewaug, who comes in off a win.
Even though Nonnewaug has not done well against Wamogo Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Nonnewaug beat Wamogo Regional by the very same score they won with last week: 70-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Nonnewaug.
Meanwhile, O'Brien RVT's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 75-38 loss at the hands of Thomaston.
Despite the loss, O'Brien RVT saw an underclassman step up: Landon Weller scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Suvon Moore, who scored nine points.
Nonnewaug's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for O'Brien RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
