Last Wednesday, Bell faced Coolidge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bell had to suffer through a rough 62-7 loss at the hands of Coolidge. Bell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-3.
Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Banneker with a sharp 57-32 victory. That's two games straight that Jackson-Reed has won by exactly 25 points.
Jackson-Reed relied on the efforts of Aminyah Muhammed, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, and Noa Gordon, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gordon has scored all season.
Bell's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.6 points per game. As for Jackson-Reed, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-1.
Bell took a serious blow against Jackson-Reed when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 64-7. Can Bell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
