After flying high against the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers last Tuesday, the Southwestern Spartans came back down to earth. Southwestern took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morristown on Thursday. Southwestern has struggled against Morristown recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Morristown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Snyder out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Colin Kieninger, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Morristown, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will play host again and welcome Knightstown, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knightstown is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, so Southwestern is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Morristown, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Eastern Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
