Strasburg is 8-2 against Byers since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Strasburg Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Byers Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Strasburg sitting on five straight victories and Byers on three.
Last Thursday, Strasburg didn't have too much trouble with Platte Valley at home as they won 63-44.
It was another big night for Tyce Bollers, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Austin Velasco was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Byers can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Flagler on the road to the tune of 60-6. Given Byers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Flagler is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Strasburg pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.7 points. As for Byers, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Strasburg against Byers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Strasburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
