The Lauralton Hall Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Hillhouse Academics at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lauralton Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
Lauralton Hall suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-33 walloping at the hands of Mercy. While losing is never fun, Lauralton Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Mercy is ranked 15th).
Lauralton Hall's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lauren Marsden, who scored 14 points, and Maura Bosse who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Bosse has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyah Kelly, who scored four points.
Even though they lost, Lauralton Hall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hillhouse came up short against Amity Regional on Monday and fell 61-50.
This is the second loss in a row for Lauralton Hall and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Hillhouse, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Lauralton Hall lost to Hillhouse on the road by a decisive 80-65 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Lauralton Hall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
