Rocky Mountain is 9-1 against Meridian since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Grizzlies will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Rocky Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Rocky Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Mountain View, who was ranked fifth at the time (Rocky Mountain was ranked 14th). The Grizzlies fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Megan McCormick put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. McCormick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

McCormick wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tayler Klozcko, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Meridian lost 14-2 to Timberline on Thursday.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Rocky Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Rocky Mountain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Meridian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Everything went Rocky Mountain's way against Meridian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Rocky Mountain made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
