Sneads and Blountstown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Pirates will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sneads will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Sneads was able to grind out a solid victory over Aucilla Christian, taking the game 5-1.
Sneads' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Conner McSpaddin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Khalil Garrett was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
While Blountstown didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Vernon 14-4 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won four in a row.
Terrell Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Williams was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cole Watson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Blountstown: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Corey Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Blountstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
Sneads' record now sits at 5-1. As for Blountstown, their record is now 5-2.
Sneads might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Blountstown in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
