Juliana Abraham was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Blackford was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Buchholz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rickards only posted a batting average of .182.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Leon was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 8-2 to Madison County. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Leon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lamonika Sims, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Leon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Buchholz, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
