Purchase Line had to endure  a  28-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-3  win over the Harmony Area Owls  on Wednesday. This was a revenge  match for Purchase Line, as the team was forced to settle for  a  1-0 loss when these two played  last Monday.
  Austin Chambers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Chambers was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Devlan Kordish was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with a  home run and two  runs.  John Hughes was another key contributor,  going 3-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Like Purchase Line, Harmony Area also got a great game from a two-way player:  Jarrod Sward. He  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). Sward was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Sward wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jack Bracken, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Purchase Line  made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-10. As for Harmony Area, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Purchase Line will be playing at home against Marion Center at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Marion Center will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last. As for Harmony Area, they will head out on the road to  take on  Curwensville at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
