Last Friday, Hammond Morton put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Hammond Clark as the team secured a 46-0 win. No one put up better numbers for Hammond Morton than senior Eric Johnson, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns. Johnson has now scored at least one touchdown in the past four games.
Meanwhile, Hammond Gavit might be getting used to good results now that the squad has three wins in a row. They put a hurting on Gary West Side to the tune of 46-0. Hammond Gavit were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Hammond Gavit to 4-5 and Hammond Morton to 7-2. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
