Shorecrest Prep suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Clearwater Central Catholic, falling 59-15. Shorecrest Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.
Meanwhile, Braden River was beaten by Port Charlotte 67-32 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Braden River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Port Charlotte is ranked 145th).
Shorecrest Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Braden River, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Shorecrest Prep was taken down by Braden River 46-10 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Shorecrest Prep was down 31-3.
