Dixie is 8-2 against Ware Shoals since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dixie Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Dixie is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ware Shoals in South Carolina (Dixie is ranked 23rd, while Ware Shoals is ranked 135th).
Last Friday, Dixie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-45 to McCormick. It was the first time this season that Dixie let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Ware Shoals humbled Thornwell with a 72-15 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-6.
Ware Shoals' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyrell Cunningham, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Medlin, who scored 17 points.
Dixie has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Ware Shoals, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Dixie beat Ware Shoals 68-61 when the teams last played back in February. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Ware Shoals' Lavarious Posely, who scored 15 points. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Dixie to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
