Windsor is 1-7 against Pacific since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Owls will host the Indians at 4:00 p.m.
Windsor is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Hillsboro.
Windsor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Haegele, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Meanwhile, Pacific came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Bennett Parker, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Northwest off the board. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Parker.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Kossuth, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Mooney, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Pacific pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Windsor has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pacific struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Windsor suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Pacific in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Owls have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
