The Green Sea Floyds Trojans struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Loris Lions had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Green Sea Floyds took a serious blow against Loris, falling 45-10. Green Sea Floyds was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.
Despite the defeat, Green Sea Floyds saw an underclassman step up: Christina Young scored a points along with four steals. Young hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Janiya Richburg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Loris, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Richburg has scored at least 25% of Loris' points. Another player making a difference was Ke'Asia Smith, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Green Sea Floyds' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Loris, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Green Sea Floyds won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Green Sea Floyds in South Carolina (Christian Academy is ranked 83rd, while Green Sea Floyds is ranked 219th). As for Loris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carolina Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Carolina Forest is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
