Softball Recap: Bowie Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bowie had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Austin Maroons get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Kate Bookidis looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Bella Nungaray was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ellie Lauer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Bowie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bowie's record is now 16-7. As for Austin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowie will square off against Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Austin, they will take on Lake Travis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Maroons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
