Even though the Foshay Wolverines scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the New West Charter Eagles still came out on top. New West Charter took down Foshay 74-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New West Charter.
New West Charter was led to victory by Armon Behikeesh and Liam Hakimi. Behikeesh scored 27 points, while Hakimi scored 32 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hakimi has scored at least a third of New West Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Beck O'Hara, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Foshay saw an underclassman step up: Shomare' Gray scored 25 points along with four steals. Peter Egwurube was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
New West Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Foshay, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
New West Charter will head out on the road to square off against Middle College at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Middle College: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while New West Charter has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Foshay will take on Larchmont Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Larchmont Charter is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
