Softball Recap: Alden Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Alden had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Tonawanda on Wednesday. The Bulldogs blew past the Timberwolves 20-9. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Alden let Sawyer Faso and Lilly Bromstead run wild. Faso went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Bromstead fired off three stolen bases, four doubles, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Bromstead is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Brooklyn Jankowski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Alden hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Alden's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Tonawanda, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
