Capistrano Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 70-59 win over the Bishop Diego Cardinals. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Capistrano Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Bishop Diego, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Capistrano Valley will take on Woodbridge in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Diego and Cate will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
