The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 60-49 loss to Savannah Christian. First Preparatory Christian Academy lost against Savannah Christian in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-48 score last time.
First Preparatory Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Moore and Brandon Betton. Moore scored 20 points, while Betton scored 15 points along with three steals. Moore scored a full 40.8% of First Preparatory Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Thomas, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
First Preparatory Christian Academy bumped their record down to 3-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Savannah Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Preparatory Christian Academy will take on Pinewood Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Savannah Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Savannah Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Savannah Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
