Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, John Paul II's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of St. Joseph's Catholic by a score of 45-42.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gracie Henderson, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Mahoney, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Patrick Henry Academy's record now sits at 2-4. John Paul II's record is now 6-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Patrick Henry Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 35.3 rebounds per game. It's a different story for John Paul II, though, as they've been averaging only 35.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
