The Payson Lions had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past Uintah 60-32 on the road. With Payson ahead 37-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Oaklie Jackman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Cheznie Roundy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Uintah struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Payson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Uintah, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payson will take on Orem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orem is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Uintah, they will head out on the road to take on Mountain View at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Mountain View is ranked 81st, while Uintah is ranked 101st).
